Human Rights

Working with Baum und Pferdgarten should always be under proper conditions and at a fair wage in all stages of our supply chain. Every person involved in the making of our garments must be treated equally and with the utmost respect. Our values are reflected in our Human Rights Policy and our Code of Conduct.

Our Code of Conduct follows the UN Guiding Principles and the Human Rights bill and is build upon the framework provided by Dansk Fashion & Textiles. (DM&T) This Code of Conduct is set to guide, inform and ensure that employees and partners throughout our entire business have a clear understanding of and comply with our guiding principles and the ethical values we want to uphold.

Gender and Personal Bias

We believe in diversity and in empowering individuality. Everyone should have the right to work free from gender and personal bias. We expect that all individuals employed throughout our supply chain are treated with respect and fairness—regardless of age, cultural heritage, nationality, sexuality, religion, or gender.

We require our partners to promote freedom of expression and uphold the right to a workplace free from discrimination. Wages must reflect skill and responsibility—not gender—and both men and women should have equal opportunities for growth and development.

We acknowledge that challenges remain in supply chains, and progress requires active effort. As part of this, we ask our suppliers to provide valid third-party social audit reports and prioritize open dialogue with our suppliers. This helps us gain insight into working conditions and support ongoing improvement

Health and Safety

We believe that no one should have to risk their health to do their job. We expect our suppliers to provide access to appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and to ensure that workers are protected from known work-related hazards wherever possible.

We encourage our suppliers to provide access to healthcare support in relation to occupational health risks, and we continue to build awareness around this across our supply chain.

To help protect workers, customers, and the environment, we require that all chemical use in our production processes complies with the REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) as set out by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). This includes avoiding the use of substances listed on the REACH Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) and adhering to all applicable restrictions and authorisation requirements.

We expect that all employees have access to clean and functioning sanitary facilities, including toilets and safe drinking water, as a basic human right and workplace standard.

Harassment

We believe that everyone involved in our production processes should be able to express themselves—both in appearance and in voice—without fear of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation.

We expect our suppliers to actively prevent and address any form of harassment, including sexual misconduct, violence, or abuse of power. We require that a zero-tolerance approach to such behavior is communicated clearly to all employees and that appropriate consequences are in place.

Suppliers must provide safe, confidential, and accessible grievance mechanisms. This includes at minimum a dedicated complaint box where employees can anonymously raise concerns. Reports must be handled discreetly and without risk of retaliation, and suppliers are expected to take follow-up action where appropriate.

We recognize that creating safe, inclusive workplaces is a continuous effort. We are committed to working with our suppliers to strengthen awareness, processes, and accountability over time

Furthermore, any complaints, concerns or violations can be reported directly to Baum und Pferdgarten by using the following e-mail: whistleblower@baumundpferdgarten.com

We advise all suppliers to share this e-mail with their workers.

Anti-Corruption

We are committed to conducting business with integrity and have a zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of corruption and
bribery. This includes a strict prohibition on employees accepting gifts, monetary payments, or other benefits that could be perceived as attempts to influence decisions — such as cash, free products, vouchers, or anything beyond symbolic value.

If there is uncertainty about a gesture or gift, we encourage employees to seek a second opinion or consult management.

Labour Standards

We are committed to fair labour conditions for all individuals involved in our supply chain. This includes upholding internationally recognized rights such as:

  • Freedom of association
  • The right to collective bargaining
  • Protection from discrimination or retaliation related to union activity

We expect that all workers are provided with clear, written employment contracts and the freedom to terminate employment voluntarily. Working hours must comply with national regulations and industry norms, and overtime should only occur under specific, lawful conditions. Workers must be fairly compensated for any overtime and be given adequate time for rest, leisure, and paid leave.

We do not accept any form of child labour, forced labour, or modern slavery under any circumstances.

Wages

It is a requirement that all workers in our supply chain receive at least the legal minimum wage in their country of employment. We encourage our suppliers to go beyond compliance by paying wages that better reflect the cost of living and the value of workers' skills.

We remain open to dialogue on wage development and support efforts toward fairer compensation wherever possible.
